The Twenty-Fifth Blessing: I am Good at What I Do

Blessing #25: I am Good at What I Do

“No one learns as much about a subject as one who is forced to teach it.” ― Peter F. Drucker

Take a moment to review all that you do in your current vocation. Know that you are better and more experienced today at the job you do than you were yesterday, last week, or last month. Push yourself to give your best effort and put your many talents to work. It is OK to acknowledge that you are good at what you do!

When you are starting out in a new job or learning a new skill, it takes some time to become a master of your craft. As a rookie in your field, even with some natural talent you will definitely have a learning curve to contend with. Take the time to soak up all the training afforded to you and know that one day, it may be you that is training up the next crop of rookies.

Wherever you are and whatever you are doing today is preparing you for the skills you will need tomorrow.  Be sure that you are putting your time and talents to good use, so that you can say with confidence: I am Good at What I Do!

“Champions do not become champions when they win the event, but in the hours, weeks, months and years they spend preparing for it. The victorious performance itself is merely the demonstration of their championship character.” ― Alan Armstrong
