This year is the year I’m focusing on a healthy transformation in my life. I’m looking to create something BIG though. Something deep. I want to go wayyyyyy beyond “lose ___ pounds blah blah blah” and instead pave a way for people of all body types -including my own- to be empowered, to feel loved, to discover their strength & true beauty. I’m not trying to be skinny again. I’m not trying to look like a supermodel or a Victoria’s Secret ad. I actually love my body as it is, but I really want to FEEL better in it. Have…

Monday Mantra: I am Worthy and Deserving of Good Things If you have ever struggled with feeling unworthy of having good things happen to you, or if you feel uneasy enjoying good things in your life, let today be the day that you begin to change your story. It does not make you selfish. It does not mean you are greedy. It simply means that as a human being, you are a magnificent miracle. You are alive. And no matter who may have made you feel “less than” in your past, YOU ARE AMAZING. You DO matter. And above all…

In a world where far too often there is tremendous pain, brutality, and the ugliness of senseless violence- it is ever more important to look for and find Beauty in our daily lives. Just as Light overcomes Darkness, so does True Beauty overcome Ugliness. See Beauty, Be Beauty. Mantra: I see Beauty all around me. THE MANY DIFFERENT SHAPES AND SIZES OF PEOPLE ARE BEAUTIFUL. THE AMAZING VARIETY OF ANIMALS…

Mantra: Be Here Now My friend Mikey and I used to share the phrase “be here now” with each other as a gentle reminder to focus on the Now instead of getting swept up in rehashing the Past, or paralyzed by fearing the what-if’s of the Future. Just Be Present. Just Be Here Now. If even for just that moment of looking at a text message sent from a friend, we could push pause and put the chaos at bay, no matter where we were at or what was going on around us. And if I recall well, there was…

I Am Positive! I love to fill my heart and mind with positive thoughts, images of hope, and inspiring stories of courage & strength. Taking in little pops of positivity throughout my day fuels me, helps me to stay my course and enjoy my journey. I find that with a positive frame of mind, I am more engaged with the world around me and I am better able to notice and respond to seen & felt needs in a way that ripples out blessing and love. Some days, however, I run into some reeeeallllly nasty roadblocks, and like Superman touching…

People often ask me how I “stay so strong” during the challenging times in my life. For those I’ve shared my story with (or even just some of the grisly parts), they are amazed at my strength and positive attitude. I love hearing that! What kills me though is when the conversation turns to their own strength and I hear something like this: “I’m not that strong,” or “I could never do that.” Yes, you are that strong. Yes, you can do that- and more! In the Get Through Shit Department, I’m literally no stronger or weaker than anyone else.…
