People often ask me how I “stay so strong” during the challenging times in my life. For those I’ve shared my story with (or even just some of the grisly parts), they are amazed at my strength and positive attitude. I love hearing that! What kills me though is when the conversation turns to their own strength and I hear something like this: “I’m not that strong,” or “I could never do that.” Yes, you are that strong. Yes, you can do that- and more! In the Get Through Shit Department, I’m literally no stronger or weaker than anyone else.…

“I am Strong. Each and Every Experience has made me a little bit stronger.” ~The Blessings Butterfly This #MondayMantra Flashback includes an awesome photo, a terrible font (yes that is PAPYRUS. I am sorry!), and a powerful reminder of where I am and where I came from. This one was first published back in October 2015, and a timely nod to strength within. Earlier this morning, a lovely meme (Artwork credited to Emily Balivet) popped up in my news feed that made me immediately take notice. It was from a challenge originally posted in the (amazing) Wild Woman Sisterhood‘s Facebook page and it looked like this: I am Intrigued. This idea of loving my body still feels very new and foreign and a tiny bit uncomfortable to me… a.k.a., PERFECT! And so, here it is. A Love Letter to My Body: Dear Body, I hope this isn’t too weird or uncomfortable for you, but I need to tell you a few things today.…

Thank you to my lovely readers for participating in the 31 Days of Blessings that just concluded yesterday. I’d like to invite you to visit my page on Facebook to share your own blessings and encouragements, and let me know if there is anything you’d like me to send prayers, blessings, or healing thoughts for in your life today. I will be transitioning to a weekly blog post while I get back to work on some upcoming projects. The theme continues to be Peace & Love, and I will be adding some empowering mantras as well. Meanwhile, please enjoy this…

Blessing #31: I Am Complete In launching The Blessings Butterfly, I initially set out to write a simple book of affirmations, meditations, blessings and encouragements that would express to the people I love the most just how much they mean to me. I chose words and thoughts and themes that would empower the handful of people I had hoped would read it. Beautifully, in the process, I came to discover a new sense of love and acceptance and joy and freedom within myself. The blessings became circular, as they poured out of my heart and flowed over me and came…

Blessing #30: I am Free “I am no bird; and no net ensnares me: I am a free human being with an independent will.” ― Charlotte Brontë I AM FREE! I am Free from anyone’s control over me. I am Free from all unhealthy relationships that once defined me. I am Free from my old addictions, and I am Free from my old unhealthy behaviors. I am Free from the old beliefs that limited me, that made me feel unworthy or incapable. I am Free to think, Free to speak, Free to love, Free to live my life exactly as…

Blessing #29: I am Honest “It’s discouraging to think how many people are shocked by honesty and how few by deceit.” ― Noël Coward When did being honest and truthful become such a rare bird? While I don’t consider myself to be one of those “brutally honest” people (mainly because I am not comfy with the “brutal” part) I do value honesty in myself and in the people I allow into my life. I do not want to be lied to, and I do not like to lie to anyone either. If you ask me to tell you the truth…
