Whew! Well Loves, this has been an interesting month, hey?
We’re entering the New Moon phase, which is all about rest, introspection, and new beginnings. It has me wondering:
•What does Rest look like for you right now?
•What have you been learning about yourself in the past month?
•What new beginnings are you preparing for?
I’ll start: REST for me has been very much about allowing my body to recover from the first round of chemo. It’s looked like saying “No” or “Not Now” to everything that I can, instead of my usual recovering Type A habit of pushing myself through to the point of collapse. (Hello, that’s not healthy in any circumstance!)
INTROSPECTION has been teaching me some pretty cool things about myself. Qualities like resilience, courage, strength, joyfullness, creativity, and wisdom that I have tended to overlook or diminish for fear of “what people might think” because let’s be honest- being judged sucks, and… it’s going to happen anyway so you might as well be true to yourself.
NEW BEGINNINGS well hot damn, as corny and cheesy as it may sound every day really is a gift. I am grateful for each new day that I wake up alive in this body, and- I still sometimes have to remind myself this throughout the day. Today, for example, if things had gone to plan I would be in Australia for the start of an epic, around-the-world honeymoon with my gorgeous husband. Instead, I am writing from our dining room table for a change of scenery. It’s not quite the same! 😂 And, it’s still pretty fucking great.

Do you have a more relaxed work schedule during the summer months? It’s a great time to look at your Self-Care routine and treat yourself to something beautiful.
I was so grateful today for the flexibility to go enjoy some “beauty maintenance” (lash fill & mani-pedi!) before joining my sweetheart’s office dinner party tonight.
Self-care is so much deeper than a spa day;it’s really about taking the time to restore what’s on your inside. So, what if you can’t take a day off or even a few hours?
Give yourself 5, 10, 15 or even 30 mindful minutes to do one of these:
think some pleasant thoughts
have a power nap
do some stretching/yoga poses
take a nature walk
write about one thing you’re grateful for
drink some water
just sit quietly
eat something nourishing
Peace and restoration can be had with a quick reset. Set aside those stressful thoughts for a little while to clear your head and give yourself a much-needed break! You’ll come back refreshed and ready to go!
On this rare rainy day, I thought I’d share a little stream of consciousness from my meditation this morning, edited to include punctuation.
Rainfall is so rare here. I love the way it sounds and the way it smells. When it falls at night, I sleep so deeply and peacefully. In the quiet of morning, I love to open the window a bit and just… listen, pausing in gratitude for even just a few moments. Grateful that I have warmth, and shelter, and a hot cuppa in my hand. Recognizing the incredible privilege in these simple things. Remembering when I couldn’t afford such luxuries. So deeply grateful. A swelling of Joy in my soul. Each raindrop a love-soaked tear, a whisper, a gentle kiss from heaven. Looking forward to giving and receiving the many gifts and blessings of this day. Sending my Love to all beings.
May you take comfort in your darkness, Peace in your rest, and Joy in the memory of your ancestors.
For those in the Northern Hemisphere, today marks the start of Samhain (which can be tricky to pronounce- “Sow [like cow] In” or “Soh Een” or if you really want to honor the Gaelic then “shav nah” [if you’re male] or “hav nah” [if you’re female]… all are actually correct though people will gladly fight you tooth and nail that only theirs is right). Samhain is an ancient, pre-Christian Celtic festival to celebrate the end of the summer, the final harvest before winter sets in. It is traditionally marked by bonfires, and corresponds with a time of honoring the spirits of the dead.
Now, to create a meditation for you all, I simply invite you to focus lovingly on the 3 things we tend to avoid because they make us so emotionally uncomfortable: darkness, rest, and death.
There is truly nothing inherently wrong or bad in any one of these. They are simply facets of each and every life.
We can face the darkness inside us and learn to understand, even love it as an integral part of our being. Not our ruler, and not our scapegoat, but a valuable teacher that has important lessons for us and will make us better people capable of healing deep wounds of the soul.
We say we crave rest, but really… How actively do you avoid rest? How often do you find you are pushing yourself to the point of exhaustion? Always grinding, always scrolling, always consuming… never letting your mind or body just… rest. What if you gave yourself permission to pause, to exhale, to look around and just BE? What would an hour of peace feel like? Can you invite in more rest?
Death is the big one that we tend to fear, isn’t it? And yet it is simply the end of this life. Death brings up so many complex emotions in us, and I don’t advise bypassing them. Instead, explore them. Journal about them. Take an objective view of the feelings that come up, and use that information to infuse the life you still have with deep, delirious Joy. Offer a loving memorial to your ancestors. Express your gratitude for who they were, and who you are.
Now with eyes closed, take in three deep, cleansing breaths with your hands on your chest, slowly releasing each breath. Open your eyes when you are ready.

A meditation for your New Moon rituals, to be a blessing on the Dark Moon.
Breathe Deeply, slowly exhale.
Relax your shoulders and your jaw, release your grasping hold on it all:
the words unspoken,
the painful rejections,
the deafening screams,
the critical eyes,
the shaking fists,
the white hot tears.
Let all of the accusations and pointed words fall to the ground beside you.
Release the need to be Right, the need to be Wrong.
Feel yourself releasing the pain, the anger, the hurt, the sorrow, the guilt, the shame, the agony, the disbelief, the weight, the worry. Let them all return to their darkness, their slumber, their quiet place.
Let them burn to ashes.
Tonight, as the Moon sleeps, dark as death, let all that has held you back from shining go, that it may fly heavenward and the Moon some comfort.
See yourself as Free, Cleared, and Ready for something New.

Man or Woman, an incredible amount of energy is put into trying to push down, hide, run away from or otherwise be embarrassed by our emotions. And yet, they are one of the most powerful connections we have to Spirit, Self, and each other!
You are allowed to FEEL. You are allowed to feel ANYTHING. Those emotions are vital, valuable, and powerful guides that can help you to heal your deepest soul-wounds. 💖🦋

I absolutely love this time of year! It’s a little bit slow, it’s a little more quiet and calm. There’s an energy of perfectly balanced gratitude & expectation that makes for an ideal meditation climate.
Here’s my super simple Year End Meditation practice that I am happy to share with you.
Remember to Breathe. Take time to be at Peace.
The chaotic energy of the holidays has waned, and we take a collective breath to get centered before moving into the new year.
Reflect on what you’ve learned, where you’ve grown, and how you are evolving as a person.
Loves, I hope you will be blessed by my Mini Meditation for you! You can take this mindful break just about anywhere when you need to relieve some stressful emotions and find peace. Note: This first appeared back in July, but I think it can be a blessing to you again today.
Pause. Deep breath, slowly release. Assign a color, shape, or name to the feeling of anxiety that is stressing you out. Deep breath, slowly release. Do not judge this feeling, simply see it. Deep breath, slowly release. Visualize your anxious feeling next to a door. What does it do? Observe it calmly and without judgement. Deep breath, slowly release. Invite your feeling to open the door, where it may now step outside into a beautiful scenery. Go with it. Observe. Reflect, release. Deep breath, slowly release. Visualize yourself surrounded in warm, golden light, and now slowly, gently return to your consciousness. Breathe, stretch, smile! Welcome back!
Once you’ve completed your mini meditation, you may have received a message from your highest self or spiritual guides. (It’s okay if you didn’t) Pay attention to this wisdom, it will serve you well.
