    M is for Other

You may or may not be a Mother. (Hint: Giving birth is not the only qualification.) You may or may not always have a positive relationship with the woman, or women, who play/played the role of Mother in your own life. (Hint: Humans are notoriously flawed and complex beings.) You may be missing your Mom, or celebrating your Mom, or avoiding your Mom. You may be desperately wishing you were someone’s Mom, or wishing for just a moment that you weren’t. You may be wishing you were better equipped, better prepared, better suited, just better at this Mom thing. I know…

    #FridayFeels New!

I love the energy shift in the first few days following a full moon. It’s as though there’s a collective release of negative thoughts and emotions and after getting a big hug from the universe, it is easier to set your sights on the possibilities ahead.  Set your intentions now for what you want to create, open up to, or reveal in the weeks to come, and get ready to embrace the start of something new!

    #MondayMantra …Up Through the Cracks

I’m always impressed with the tenacity of weeds in the city. No matter how much concrete, if there is even a tiny crack in the ground or along a wall, somehow nature finds a way through.  I desire to be more like those weeds-pushing back against the hardscape, reaching for the light, blooming wherever I am.  Today’s mantra is a powerful reminder:  I am like a beautiful weed growing up through the cracks.

    #FridayFeels Majestic Journey

It’s Friday, and I’m in Norway. (Norway! I am still giddy saying that.) I’ve been able to travel around the world, always awestruck by the incredible sights and natural wonders. This tour of the fjords, though- I haven’t been able to wrap my head around how utterly, stunningly beautiful it is.  As we were sailing into Geiranger yesterday flanked by mile high granite cliffs topped with snow and accented by 5000 ft waterfalls, I was completely overcome with emotion and drops of pure gratitude fell from my eyes in the stillness of the great fjord. This place is what the…

    Mindset Shifts and Deep Healing

Being a mindset coach can seem like a frivolous and fluffy profession; a joke, a sham, a hoax. Kind of like when I tell people that I’m a writer and they respond incredulously with, “You can make a living doing that?” After the stinging slap to my face has dissipated, I smile and say as sweetly as I can muster, “Yes, and I am grateful for the opportunity to use my gifts in this way.” But it isn’t easy. The lessons I am learning about myself and the battles I continue to face in struggling with my own inner critic,…

    #FridayFeels Explore & Expand!

Bags packed, checked in, cleared security, and got a front row seat to watch our ride pull in to the gate. Traveling the world has been a lifelong passion of mine, and I drink up each and every experience. I love it! There is always another place to explore, a new horizon to expand.  Today I’m setting off for a new adventure- Norway! Whaaaat?! Live the Life You Love! Explore & Expand, Embrace & Enrich… DO the things that excite you, that fulfill you, that scare you, that challenge you.  Oh, and about that Big, Scary Dream that you are…

Rad Recipes: Spicy Sweet Baked Carrot Chips

I saw these beauties and my heart went pitter-pat! I knew I had to have them. I took them home and cleaned them up, sliced into thin rounds, coated them in coconut oil and a mix of spices, then baked them in a hot oven for a few minutes. I’m pleased with how they came out, but if you want to make them crunchy-crispy, they need to be sliced paper-thin before baking. (You’ll also want to shorten the oven time unless you like them burnt!) Here’s my super simple recipe: 6 carrots, washed (not peeled) and sliced into thin rounds…

    #MondayMantra Seek the Best

Even as I write this, I am dealing with a personal situation that is seriously trying my patience and causing me to question the motives of the other parties involved. It is disappointing and disheartening, but I will still hold on to hope because I believe it is a misunderstanding. I will still offer space for the people involved to make things right- because in so doing, it allows them to rise to the occasion.  Hoping and activating for the best outcome also keeps me from becoming bitter and cynical. However this one plays out, it is teaching me to…
